I remember the days you're talk'n about. Most of the machines had the old cast push bar to release the soda bottle.
I used to do some diving on the Tennessee River. If I remember correctly (it's been at least 25-years ago), I was diving at Clifton, TN. There had been a Coca-Cola bottling plant there in the early 1900s. We were used to finding old medicine bottles, etc., but I came across a Coke bottle and didn't think much about it since I couldn't really tell much in the murky water. When I got back to the boat and emptied my bag, I discovered it was an old brown-glass Coke bottle and I believe the date on it was 1903. I've still got it packed away in a box somewhere. I'll bet they weren't much more than a penny back in those days. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
