I was ordering some filters online for my MF 2009 GC2410 TLB and to my surprise Napa Auto now has a hydraulic filter listed for my tractor. :D

Napa Gold Hydraulic Filter # FIL 400361.

They list the applications as follows:

AGCO TRACTOR ST22A 2005 - 2007
MASSEY FERGUSON TRACTOR GC2300 2002 - 2008
MASSEY FERGUSON TRACTOR GC2310 2003 - 2008
MASSEY FERGUSON TRACTOR GC2400 2008 - 2012
MASSEY FERGUSON TRACTOR GC2410 2008 - 2012
MASSEY FERGUSON TRACTOR GC2600 2008 - 2012
MASSEY FERGUSON TRACTOR GC2610 2008 - 2012

Pricing is unavailable for online purchases, so I'll go to my local Napa Auto Monday.

I would expect the NAPA price is similar to the OEM filter.

But, at least it's finally more readily available.

I would expect the NAPA filter price to be about 1/5 that of the Massey dealer price. I bought my first and only MF hyd oil filter for about $75 in 2011. I consider that one of the worst ripoffs in customer gouging history. It was buried in with a bunch of other parts and I failed to look closely until I got home.

So, what exactly do you base that on?

1. NAPA is NOT a discount store. Their products are of good quality. And, they don't give them away. I had a shop with a commercial account that gave me a good discount, and I could still beat their prices buying off the street.

2. NAPA doesn't sell the GC engine oil filter for 1/5 the cost of MF. Last time I checked, it's priced slightly less that MF has it.

3. There are LOTS of aftermarket hydraulic oil filters out there, I have not seen any selling for $10-$15 dollars. If they did make one that cheap for us, I sure would never use it. You would probably be better off, not changing it.

While, AGCO parts are expensive, the other OEM manufacturers are just as bad.

Don't forget to check on Amazon and Ebay. I've found significant savings on both sites.

So, what exactly do you base that on?

I base it primarily on my unwillingness to be taken for a fool again. $75 is absurd no matter how you describe the options. That was for a MF2660.

The MF part # is 6223537M1. I believe with a 3 min search that the Donaldson P560694 fits and costs $25.55. That's from Diesel Equipment Co. in NH. I have not bothered to find the NAPA crossover but someone soon will, probably before I get the time. OK, 3:1 instead of 5:1 price. I'll concede that much.

Just because a filter "fits" does not make it the correct filter.
There is a LOT more to a filter that just the treads and gasket.
