Thanks! I hauled a Triton 240 LTS loaded with 80 gallons of gas, water, junk and had less truck, but I always like to ask ;)

I get that I can "get by just fine" with that 2400h etc... and, like you said.. heck.. I could drop the backhoe, drop the mowing deck.. and add on a zero turn and get it done and cheaper.. but...does not mean I would like it near as much lol

im in somewhat of a quandary as to the mowing part, I don't want to mow with a rear mount since my wife and daughter like to mow as well and the swing of that thing on a corner and my wife/daughter and their turning do not lend to great visions in my head - not to mention me driving close around buildings/posts/trees/swingsets etc.........then with a zero turn having another motor, multiple tires, more belts, more oils, take your pick, taking up space and costing more maintenance and time I just want to reduce that as much as I can - I am going belly mower - I have 2 acres I mow as well maybe a wee bit more - keep pondering it will surface

agreed............spending money is not something I like to do often - and when I do - my fear is buyers remorse from past failed attempts

My 3725 open station is too heavy to run on the lawn. I use an inexpensive riding mower/lawn tractor for mowing the lawn. But I already had it. If your 2 home acres is mostly or all to be mowed and a big tractor with cab can fit (i.e. under trees) and your lawn's ground is hard enough for a 5000 lb tractor then it would make sense to buy a 3725C now. I agree with other posters that unless you have tons of digging it'll be cheaper to rent a mini excavator than to buy a backhoe. If there's not that much work you can do at home with the 3725C then it'd make sense to buy something smaller (maybe that can go on the lawn when its soft) and wait to get the larger tractor when you decide if you will keep the current ranch or when you buy it's replacement. That new ranch may change your tractor needs.

Okay, I made the call.. placed the order... and, was not what I expected, but it was the smart move and made my wife hap... er .. less agitated...

I wanted the a/c.....really wanted it, but... it did not make sense for me. If my ranch was not 5 hours away, if I owned more than 2 acres, if I was not looking at selling my ranch possibly.. yea.. but....

I decided to drop the A/C, thus dropped the HP. I went with the Branson 2400H. I dropped the backhoe.

I decided on:

Branson 2400H
Loader
4ft Box blade
Continental Post Hole 9"
20ft dual axle trailer with elec brakes
Hustler Raptor SD 60" Zero-turn mower.

I know, was not what I expected, but it just made financial and common and sanity sense.

So, yes, a/c is nice.. yes, I wanted it.. but people made sense.. I can get a backhoe rental.. when I dropped the idea of that and the a/c.. I ended up with way too large a gap between self0sufficiency and a/c

Thank you all so much for your input and thoughts. I know it does not make sense to many, but if it makes my life easier and more fun and my wife nicer... it seems to be the best way to go.

agreed eric, the heavy tractor will do a number on the lawn weight wise and if its damp at all it will leave noticeable tracks not only in the grass but dirt - not sure what the soil is like there but here in mo i am leaning toward a lighter machine for that same reason for mowing - a large commercial zero turn will weight in the neighborhood of 1500 lbs my 2210 deere is 1400 w/out deck so they would be close - zero turn rides rougher but faster and not as versatile so.....quandary..........

he is in texas so maybe the clay molecules are BIGGER there and hold more weight HA!!!!

Dang, I want a tractor that makes my wife nicer!

Actually she's been very pleased with the work I've gotten done with it, to the point of telling me that if I felt like I needed one with more HP we should get it.
