I have narrowed my search down to three MFGs: Kioti, Kubota, and Montana; and four models: Kioti DK45S, Montana 4540 and R4344, and Kubota L4400.

The problem that I am having is with dealers. Kioti and Montana dealers have yet to return my calls or emails, and I have even gone through the MFG website for someone to give me a quote from outside my area. NOTHING!! The dealer that my boss bought his Kubota is responsive, but I actually like the Kioti and Montanas better. Can anybody give me any pricing on these four tractors (4wd with loader, non-HST).

I am planning to use the tractor for mowing 15ac, driveway maintenance, later square-baling, medium-size rock removal, and other farm jobs. Any advice on which would be best?

I would highly recommend going to Barlow tractors website
instructions
and use the Package Builder and go through the process. Be careful because when I did this I ended up buying a tractor from Barlow's, well I really bought 2 a new L4400HST and a used BX1500 but hey who's counting. I also recently bought a used Anbo grapple and a small scraper blade for the BX1500. I have never met Brady in person I have always dealt with him over the Net or by phone so be careful, my conversations usually end up in a purchase. :D:D. All kidding aside they are good people and they are very competitive in their pricing. They deliver all over the country, they delivered all of my stuff.

If I couldn't get a response out of a dealer when I want to give him $$$, what do you think will happen when you actually need warranty work from this sort of dealer??? If you are a "DIY" type it might not be so bad, but as others will chime in, a smiling responsive dealer can be a blessing if you don't know your ***** from left field about diesel tractors...Good Luck! I would be glad to give you a quote on the L4400 if you will email me your number. We are in Centre AL
Thanks

Thanks for your replies. Believe you me, I am very apprehensive about the dealers not getting back with me. I just don't understand it.

I am worried about the Montana (it is a great tractor, but the dealers are dropping like flies). I just talked to the nearest Montana dealer, which is 100 miles away because the local one is no longer Montana. The 100 miles one is also no longer a Montana dealer. He is now an LS dealer and gave me a good price on a LS 4020. This is the same tractor as Montana R4944. What is up with Montana??? The LS website doesn't have a dealer search, so I can't find one near me.

Snead Tractor LLC,
I just replied to your PM.

No return call would lose my business. Kioti is now selling tractors to Bobcat for relabeling. Try them. Its the same machine with different paint but the support of the Bobcat name.

Is the price what makes you more attracted to Kioti and Montana tractors?
Tractor specs? Color? Brand reputation means nothing to you?

pitt,
I appreciate any replies, but yours seems quite rude. I actually have better pricing on the Kubota than the other two (no prices whatsoever since the dealers have not responded ;)

The specs and also standard equipment are why I like them better. Colors fade over time.

There is a lot going on with Montana Tractors. LS had been supplying Montana with their tractors. Not sure where the relationship is. According to some reports, Montana purchased the Branson Manufacturing facility. Stay tuned.

Hey CFDE, (that's along screen name!)

I got a DK40SE HST with FEL and 96" rear blade for 19.5k about 4-5 months ago and it's been fantastic. So I would say my opnion is a bit biased.

I looked at the Kubotoa's and they are nice tractors as well.. but the one thing that made we shy away from them was the placement of the FEL control lever. I did not like it mounted to the FEL directly.. I like how Kioti has the lever right next to my right hand. I know it seems like a little thing, but when you are having to lean foward all day reaching for the lever it could become a problem. I don't know for sure, but I would guess Kubota has an option for next to the seat FEL lever?
