Anyone have a trick for temporarily narrowing a bucket? I find myself needing to dump <4' wide often enough to try and bother. I was thinking about trying something with plywood but figured that wouldn't hold up at all.

Only fill the bucket on the side you want to dump. Don't go into the pile head on just take some from the side.

Yeah, take scoops with the corners of the bucket from the edges of the pile. You can easily get 1/3 to 2/3 capacity that way. Be careful if it's a smaller tractor and/or heavy material, as an off-balance bucket can cause problems.

That is what I usually do, but If I want to dig with a narrower bucket, I put on my old kubota 5 foot bucket on the Kioti. It only takes a few seconds to change buckets, thanks to SSQA.

Just be careful not to over load or w/heavy soil, for it can be tough on front tire seal when traveling...bumps jerking bucket.
