Nasty Weather

Hello from Northern Alberta. Temps going to -3C today with a 5 day forcast looking about the same! Nice change from the -30C and colder we had for the last couple of weeks! Sure could use some more snow out here though!

We've had about a week of ~~30F lows, although the temp is 39 this morning, so it looks as though we're getting back into something a little bit closer to "normal". We expect highs today of 55-60.

Then I guess I shouldn't tell you that it is just a hair under 80F now /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif. Its supposed to drop to the mid 30s tonight and be in the mid 40s tomorrow. Its been a strange winter.

Looks like I'm getting it now. About 10cm of snow last night. This morning the temperature rose from about -10 to 1 degree and now it's raining. Anyone looking for 54" snowblower with less than 2 hours on it /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif?

It froze overnight so the slush that was still on the driveway turned into ice and then early this morning it warmed up and we had a few hours of freezing rain. That helped soften the ice and I was able to scrape the driveway clean.

The freezing rain caused some power outages in our area but nothing compared to our neighbours across the river in Buffalo where tens of thousands of homes are still without power. I assume that our power authorities will be sending a number of crews to Buffalo to help them through this.

Well, high winds last night pushed all that freshly fallen snow around a bit. I'll looking at my road as I type this. The snow is level with the stone wall on one side and the slope on the other. Wet and heavy now, with a glazing of ice on top. Looks like I'll be getting some FEL practice today. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

Its too late to rub it in. Its back in the 30s heading for the low 20s tonight. We had a 45F degree temperature drop yesterday evening. Yet no sign of snow /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif
