A friend visited the other day, explained that her granddaughter is allergic to skeeter bites. The young lady was wearing one of those colored wrist bands that was impregnated with citronella. Not what I'd call overpowering, but nary a nibble on her in the 2 hrs they were here. Yeah, that's for me!
I found a
'botanical' bug killer
(Hot Shot_'Kitchen'). Label says, "use in kitchens, pantries, & food prep areas". Haven't sprayed it on potato salad to keep flies off or anything, but it works quickly on ants, spiders, pantry moths, etc everywhere I've used it indoors. Doesn't take much & doesn't stink up the place.
I'm far from done tossing 'BT cakes' (my name), or "Mosquito Dunks" (label name), into the black & brackish water flooding the woods next door. 'BT' is a natural bacterial pesticide gardeners are familiar with for 'dusting' & other applications. It's death to skeeters in the larval stage, & takes a while to deplete the generations, but I do this every year. btw: There's no 'secondary kill' of bug-eating critters around the pond from using BT. ("ribbit")
