Neat Free Software?

My 2 favorites. AdAware by lavasoft and Spybot S&D (Search and destroy). Spy ware killers... home versions are free and work great. have used both for several years on 98,ME,xp pro and win2000.

The gummit has put monitoring machines in major router centers. They have filters that look for id's under survalence and filter for phrases, kiddy ****, etc. This started about 3 years ago, it was mentioned in the media. They do not store everything forever, but then they have our tax dollars to work with so what is a few terrabytes of storage /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I was and am still working with a large data services company so this is not just paranoia but knowledge.

Yes sir, Bill. As soon as my free subscription of McAfee runs out, I'm going back to AVG. I used it on my old computer.

i didn't install it because of doing something illegal, i just like the fact that it automatically gets rid of a lot of stuff that would just hang around on the computer and take up space...
plus i don't want my wife to know how often i go in and read the post at TBN...

I understand and like my privacy too. Nothing illegal here either just don't like my private life poked into. That is getting harder and harder now a days though. The county sheriffs dept here are putting door hanger things in our mailboxes lately that say they were by checking on my property. I don't think I really like that ! They are also breaking federal law by putting non US mail items in a US mail box. I guess they are above the law.

What don't you like? Them checking on your property? That's part of their job. It's a function of patrol. Is it an election year? Maybe they're trying to convince you what a great job the Sheriff is doing so you'll vote for him again.

Call the Sheriff and tell him not to put anything in your mailbox. Call the postal inspector and report that you are the victim of a crime and demand an investigation since the Sheriff thinks he's "above the law". Either way, I hope you get satisfaction. You have clearly been violated.

I like Eyeball Chat. When my daughter's family was in Africa for a year, we managed to hook up about once a week for an "eyeball to eyeball" visit. All it cost was the per minute price of their dialup internet connection, and of course the web cams. But that's what Grandparents are for. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

A couple I like to use.
