Those light pillars are the result of 88 lights provided by a company called Space Cannon Illumination Inc here in Edmonton, Alberta. The 88 lights are 7000 watts each, or about 957 million candles EACH. Seems like a lovely and very fitting tribute.

Can't help but thing of the cool space picture you posted. Wonder what the WTC memorial looks like from space. It has to be intense up to a significant altitude.

I know this is not politically correct, and I was personally affected by the attack on the pentagon, and maybe I should keep this to myself, BUT . . .

I couldn't help but look at that pic and go, hey, where is the bat symbol???
