Need a Bigger Bucket!

Man - I envy you - can't wait to get there - get up in the a.m. - read the paper with my first pot o'coffee - then look out the window and decide if I want to start my day or not. 4 years and counting -- I asked my wife to buy me one of those big oak rockers they sell at all the flea markets for my retirement - she wants to know just when the H___ I thought I was going to have time to sit in one - her hunny-do list is several years long already and still building - sigh./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Mike, no matter what time I get up in the morning; whether it's 3 a.m. or 5 a.m., Buster, the dog, gets up and wants outside right then. This morning, I opened the door about 5:30, he took one quick look, backed up real quick, and went back to bed./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif He waited until I carried the garbage out a few minutes ago during a break in the rain./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

That pic is what Sioux Falls looked like last Monday and Tuesday. We got 13". Glad we could pass some on to you!

Bird, I saw just a little of the Garth Brooks concert that was live from Texas tonite before
I came to work. He said he was going to cancel it this morning until they saw all the people
that were camped out in the cars overnight waiting for it to start tonite. It sure looked
cold & windy. I'll watch the tape when I get up tomorrow.

I didn't know Garth Brooks was doing another concert, and don't know where it was. He did one a few years ago at Texas Stadium (our youngest daughter worked out there then). Anyway, we had a light rain off and on and our outdoor thermometer seemed to be stuck on 30-31 for about 24 hours, but then started down last night; only got down to 24 here with a thin coat of ice on everything this morning. But it's supposed to start warming up tomorrow sometime and be a nice sunny weekend in the 60s. Sure hope so, since I have to help some in-laws move Saturday./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

In-laws? I'd only help if they were moving further away./w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif/w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Unfortunately, in this case, they are. They sold their place and are moving back to town, closer to their grown kids because she has terminal cancer.

My deepest sympathies, Bird. My mother, aunt and uncle all died from cancer. It was a long, ugly, depressing, stressful period.

Thanks, Mike, I've gone through it with my grandmother and a favorite aunt, too. My sister-in-law is doing pretty well so far. Doctors told her 6 months to 2 years and that was over a year ago, and she's still holding her own. The old gal and I have a lot in common, I think; not scared to die; just don't want to be in a lot of pain or unable to care for myself. So, she even jokes about it. Of course, her husband is taking it a lot harder than she is, and I can sure understand that, too. And since she and my wife have been so close for so long, and spend so much time on the phone together, I know my phone bill is about to go up, with them moving away from our neighborhood./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Bird. My deepest simpathies. I have several close friends who are either fighting cancer or their wives are. It is hard on everyone, it just makes you enjoy everyday.

Just a suggestion about the phone bill part. I have a mobile (cell) phone that covers a 14 state region as my local calling plan from Verizon Wireless. Depending on where they are moving to or even still you can get cell phones with nationwide coverage. It would allow you to call and just use your minutes, land line long distance is so expensive these days.

Good luck, god bless and best wishes to all.
