Need a nice battery powered walk behind mower?

The only Stihl battery I have for everything is the AP.

I know they have belt and backpack options providing many hours between charges but the AP works well for my needs.

I owned a landscape business for over 30 years. I've owned scads of gasoline powered mowers. None of them can compare to my EGO 56 volt, self-propelled mower. It has power equal to any of the old gas mowers. I can mow an acre or more with the 7.5 ah battery.
As a bonus, the same battery is used to operate both of my chainsaws, weed eater, and hedge trimmer. Other products by EGO, leaf blowers, snow blowers, and more, all use the same batteries in size, same voltage, different ah, from 2.5 to 10 ah.

How did you handle Spring cut when grass is 2-3' tall?

I do some once a year Spring clean-up for fire compliance and found where battery is great for maintaining regularly mowed... even stretching to several weeks between mows... it requires gas powered for the heavy stuff...

Grass only gets 2-3' in my pastures. Around the house, never much more than 12", which is not a challenge for the mower. I was blown away when I started using it. I do have a DR walk behind field and brush mower I occasionally use in rougher terrain where I don't want to mow with my tractor.

I can't get an acre on mine. Is 5-6 years old and would mow for an hour new, about 50 minutes now.

I would like to demo one because legally operating gas equipment is already a not allowed for blowers and weed whackers...

For the dirty work I use an old Honda powered Husky on max height setting and make 50% swath cuts emptying catcher often.

It's abuse I would not wish on a new battery mower but I could just be overly cautious...

So far the battery brush cutters are not up to the full day of hillside brush cutting... no issues for my Handlebar Echo but using it makes me an outlaw...

Fire Inspector has already said concern is reducing fuel load... period.

Doubt OPD had the time to write tickets for those brush clearing when home and car break-ins when no time to respond to home and auto break ins.

Battery tech continues to improve and I am all for it.

Just keep in mind that as the base load increases on the present grid, chances are power failures will become more and more frequent.... and the cost per KWH is increasing substantially as well.

By me the local Home Depot has a nice stack of Toro Battery mowers in the box at 1/2 price. 225$ I think. These are steel decks. ++

If you have cordless tools, consider a mower that will use the same batteries.
