A fellow 790 owner! The maneuverability of these 790s is equaled only by their relative power and dependability!

I grew up in a farming community, and if you contact an old-school farmer I am willing to bet he would help you on how to plumb it yourself (though you would have to borrow specialty tools).

I wouldn't use a compression fitting splice.. too much pressure, it must be bent to shape and flared on the ends with the proper fittings and unions. NAPA will have the fittings and unions...BUT, if the lines are rusted, and/or pitted you just might be better off spending the money and doing it right.

After looking at the pictures you can see why I wanted to replace all 4 tubes. I will check with the auto parts store and see if they can make them up with high pressure hoses. I got the baby new and have all most 500 hours on it

Eeesh. Okay, here's the deal. You could use Ermeto compression fittings. They are NOT your low pressure brass. If I remember correctly, they are good to 4k or 5k psi depending on size. Or, you could install fittings in place of the banjos. Banjo fittings are either metric or British pipe thread, parallel of course, or, BSPP for short. Most JD stuff I have run across are BSPP. You can get straight or 90 degree adapters that go from the banjo to JIC. Then, you could run a standard hydraulic hose. You can take your steel lines and banjo bolts to a hydraulic shop and get a price on replacement fittings/lines. I will tell you this much, it will almost certainly be more than what the lines cost from JD. The adapters are roughly 25 bucks each, then the hoses. But, you could price them out, maybe I'm wrong. You don't want to use auto store brake line. You want .049" seamless hydraulic tube.

Just looked at your pics. I wouldn't bother with Ermeto. Those lines are shot.
