hmmm. I had not thought of taking that approach. I just got the 2210 about two months ago, my first tractor. got a rear scraper blade, FEL and mower deck with it. For several years I have dealt with the weeds in the gravel driveway by walking around with a spot sprayer backpack and hitting them with killer. I did not realize that using a rear scraper blade(to grade) would deal with the weeds effectively. I might try that approach, at least in some spots, and see if I can handle it. I have never used a rear blade before, so learning how to handle these implements is all new for me.
I am green as grass with this stuff....but learning!

The scraping method can be effective, but it almost commits you to doing the same thing yearly. You will scrape off the tops of the weeds, or if you use a light box scraper with rippers, you can loosen the gravel and pull out parts of the roots too. In either case, however, you are loosening the compacted gravel. This is going to allow many more seeds to gain a footing and come the following spring, you may have many more weeds than in the current year. This could be something you don't want, or it may not bother you if you don't mind scraping it clean all over again.

Invariably, gravel driveways get ridges, dips, potholes etc. I find my floating drag, even a chunk of I-Beam works well if you get out when it is wet (noy too muddy) and it will roll things level and chop the weeds all in one.

I should add that a 3 pt blade can make a mess in a hurry if it cuts deep. I spin mine around backwards to do light leveling/spreading.

afternoon, all. Well, i made a decision and drove to Garner to Agri-Supply and got a pull-behind 15 gal sprayer that operates off the tractor battery. it works just fine. I also tried out using the scraper blade and it really does do a decent job of getting out some of gravel weeds.....especially where i can't go very effectively with the chemical sprayer.
The sprayer came disassembled and that meant a half-hour of knuckle-scraping. One problem i had was that the wire from the sprayer, that is fitted with clips at one end, was too short to reach all the way up to the front of my 2210 tractor....where the battery is located. So, i spliced in some extra length wire. Is there some place on the back end of the tractor where I could connect the two wires from the sprayer pump.....to draw power for the pump? I am a real dweeb and novice at this stuff....so, if somebody could tell me how to hook up the wire(s) at the back of the tractor, that would be good. thanks to everyone!
