JD 2320
Does anyone have any opinions on these? With a 200CX loader on a 2320 tractor I definitely do not need a heavy set that can handle more weight than my tractor has the ability to lift. I could make a set but would rather buy a set.

Gizmo,
I was looking at that site earlier today. They seem like a good fit. I did find a few posts on recommending them. I am going to check with my local JD Dealer on cost and weight of the Frontier forks.

Keep me posted. I called my dealer and they said the guy I need to talk with is out of the office until Thursday, imagine that. I did call Everything Attachments and they said the unit for the JD 200CX has been a good seller, yeah ok.

Don't the Frontier forks weigh in at over 300lbs?

Good question...The Frontier site did not list weights.

I was looking at something close to that, decided to go with a loader bar option. It attaches to my reinforced bucket and the forks attach to it, also allowing other options such as grapples and other attachments that I can use with my bucket and not have to remove it when I want to use forks or other things.

Just an option, plus it will be much easier to change between them. :)

I purchased a set of these forks for my JD 3320 just last month. I put around 20 hours on the tractor moving brush with them on our property. I was considering a set of the Payne's debris forks, but I'm happy with this decision as the fork carriage provides much better visability for what I'm using them for.

They seem to be well built and I like the fact that the forks are fixed and tilt back or "dump" the load if I need. The max fork spacing is about as wide as the loader/bucket bracket, and they narrow down to about 6 or 8 inches I guess.

I'm within the free delivery zone and they showed up in about 3 business-days. Some assembly required, but no big deal. I suggest loc-tighting the nut/bolt that hold the fork rod onto the carriage.

Bottom line: I would buy from this company again.

There are cheaper and lighter forks available for CUTs. Not sure about the JD mount however as I've seen them in universal skidsteer mount. The set from Frontier is nice looking though. The cheaper ones I've seen are not infinitely adjustable and that is a nice feature.

Gizmo-

You're looking at the bracket for the lower attaching pins. The linch pins go thru the back side (unseen in that photo) to hold the bottom of the fork carriage to the loader brackets. The same pins hold the bucket on too.

I suppose if the fork frame was wider, that area would be better "protected" - so far it hasn't caused me a problem and, well, let's just say in that first 20 hours of use, there was a little abuse that occurred...

I have the Frontier 42 inch fixed tine forks on a 2520 and like them. I don't think they weigh 425 lbs, maybe more like 250 or 300 tops. Just to give an idea of how the weight affects lifting performance, I needed to unload my backhoe which weighed about 800 lbs from my pickup. I was able to lift that load to about 4 feet but no more.

There are some posts (with pictures) on here of lifting 1300 lbs or so, but only a foot or two off the ground.

The Frontier forks seem to be pretty heavy-duty, more so than what the 2520 probably needs, but at least I know I won't bend or break them.

I was going to recommend Horning Pallet Forks made in Mifflinburg, Pa and sold at several different locations across the state. Price is right and they are well constructed but it looks like you already made your decision.:)

Gizmo,

You're going to love them. I use mine all the time. In my opinion, they are money well spent.

Have fun.

Gizmo,
I picked up a set of Frontier forks Sat, your look alot heavier duty than the ones I got. But they did work great for moving brush and the trees I cut down.

Kernal,
I did not get the set I thought I was going to get, these are made by Horst but sold by my dealer????? I'd like to see the set you have.

Horst makes some really decent stuff. I'm willing to bet that they are heavier duty than the Frontier ones.... don't quote me on that of course. They are local to me and I have a Horst toothbar and a Horst bale spear.

Personally I would happily pick them over many others for things like forks, grapples, QA brackets, bale spears etc.
