Just to update.

I met with the guy K7LN suggested on Friday and we hit it off well. He had a nice clean machine. Better than the one I recently purchased. Regrettably, I learned from the dealer the wheels used for Ag tires would not work with turf tires so buying two of his spare front wheels would not help me. He offered to sell me two rear wheels and four front wheels and the six spare tires for $300....or the whole package (including tractor and back blade) for $4000. A pretty good deal I thought but I needed to think about it.

Got a text from him last night. He sold the tractor but the buyer did not want the wheels, tires or grader blade. He offered the wheels and tires to me for $100 and the blade for $100. I would prefer turf tires, but for $100 the Ag tires seem like a cheap fall back if it gets too expensive to repair/replace the wheels and tires on my machine. The blade for $100 is a no brainer. I am heading out shortly to get them.

So far no luck getting rims for the front turf tires. The dealer has suggested making do with the wheels I have so that is an option if the original tires can be salvaged. One rear and one front are leaking air. I should know the status this week. It will be nice to have the Ag tires as a back up.

Thanks for the lead K7LN.

Is your tractor 4wd? If so, you need to run the correct diameter ratio between front and rear tires.

Yes it is. That is why I had to buy both the front and rear Ag wheels/tires. Still hoping the turfs will work but at least I have a fall back with the Ags

Per Tractor Data both the Ag and Turf tires are 12" front wheels. Not sure if they are the same width, though.

The Ag's are 12x5 rims and the turfs are 12x6 rims. Dealer information on those specs.

As most of my work will be FEL, brush hogging, food plots and driveway maintenance, I may be better off with the Ag tires anyway. The tractor came with the MMM but I have a lot of trees in my one acre of lawn and I may be better off to keep my Husky 48" lawn tractor for that job.

If you plan on FEL work, you will need to confirm the loaf testing on the turf tires. From what toy describe your usage, you might be better with R4 of your bushhogging isn't in muddy fields. The R4 will definitely be better on the driveway. That's where i notice the main difference with my R1 tires. Far superior in our clay chirt , bu less traction on the gravel and asphalt.
