One of the little plastic wheels on the back of a 48" brush cutter for the PT-180 broke in half and I have had no luck in finding one with a big enough hole for the bolt that goes through it. Power Trac has one for $24.99 but will not ship without at least a $50 order. I have tried all the local hardware stores and even a tractor place and though they may have a wheel about the right size, the holes in them are too small.

Does anyone know if I could use a smaller bolt or maybe a website that carries that particular wheel? Thanks.

What are the dimensions of the wheel and the hole size?

If it broke once, do you think it could happen again? Maybe order two and they'll ship them.

Find a store that sells wheels and casters for industrial hand trucks in your area. They should be able to match it pretty quick.

DTurnmire,
Hi, I know the feeling of being shunned, but regardless, Try any of these combinations.
First your wheel should be held by a 1/2 inch bolt,
If one of the wheels available has enouigh "meat" in the center, (you can judge or rely on your contact), drill the hole out to 1/2 inch.
If the hole on the available wheel is 3/8 ths 0r 7/16ths without the meat use a
bolt of that size until something more correct is available.
All the best, we can't stop work for small problems.

I don't know the size of your brush cutter wheels but I am considering caster wheels as a replacement for my 48" finish mower rear wheels. I believe mine are hard plastic 8x2 with 1/2 center hole.

Some options listed here. Caster Wheels - Phenolic - Rubber - Steel - Polyurethane - V Groove - Caster City

I've been using heavy duty phenolic caster wheels on my 1845 roughcut mower for several years now. They've been great - I haven't had a flat since :)

Sedgewood,

Thanks for the info. I'll give them a try.
