/ need advice bad between two tractors..please help #21
I have a Kubota b2620 with a backhoe attachment and I want to upgrade. I have it narrowed down to two tractors, Kubota Ms5100hst with backhoe and loader and mahindra 5010 hst with cab and backhoe and loader. Both dealers are giving me 18500 for a trade in ..Kubota wants 37000 and mahindra wants 38900. I really need pros and cons and your advice will really help. Thanks guys

$1900 difference for a cab, otherwise pretty much same price for same tractor and BH & FEL. You can try getting the Mahindra dealer to drop the price to 37000 by saying you can get the same tractor from Kubota for that much. I don;t know whether he knows that's the difference between having the cab - you can try it, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Or you can tell the Kubota person you'll take it for 37,000, but only if it includes a cab.

I grew up SW of Schenectady, so the weather there isn't much different from where I am now; and I do just fine without a cab. Since you have the BH and FEL, I'm assuming you're not going to be doing a whole lot of field work (plowing, disking, haying, etc.) where an AC and cover would make a big difference in comfort.

Would you mind posting a picture of that?

Got you a couple better pictures today (I think).

Ok, for reference, the picture I showed you before:
View attachment 341652
...was from the right side looking forward to the front axle. All those bolt heads in the top left view are part of the subframe attachment. The big tie-down loop is attached to the subframe as well.

This following picture:
WP_20131018_027.jpg
...is showing the same area of the tractor (right side) but is looking over the front axle, below the loader arm.

These two pictures:
WP_20131018_003.jpg WP_20131018_019.jpg
...are showing the same area of the of the tractor, looking in more squarely to show how far forward these subframe parts attach.

This picture:
WP_20131018_004.jpg
...shows back into part of the left side subframe. I was able to get a better shot on this side not having the loader hoses in the way...

This is a good one:

In this view you can see the section of subframe that goes across under the tractor to tie the two sides together for extra rigidity. And you can see the long section of subframe that reaches back the to the rear axle and beyond and ties in for the backhoe to hang on...

This is another good one:
WP_20131018_008.jpg
...showing (from the left side) the crossmember as well as how the rear section of subframe ties in and is gusseted.

Here shows:

...how the rear subframe ties to the rear axle.

If you wan't to upgrade why not look at a good tlb setup? I have a Deere 110tlb and Kubota has the L45 and M59 don't know what the others offer that is similar but I would look at them all.

If you are going to be using the PTO much the Kubota is rated 42.5 and the Mahindra 38 HP. While the Mahindra is a very, very nice tractor, the Kubota reliability is legendary and that's the way I would go. Cab and backhoe don't seem to go well for me.
