NEED ADVICE( can\'t find D-rings in town)

Would something like this work, it;s 3inch by 3/8 thick angle with 1/2 inch side gussets. I think I would put about 6 on the trailer. I would like to see some pic's and hear some other ideas. Tractor is a Kubota 7510. THANKS

If you have a local Tractor Supply Store try them. That is where I found mine.

Another good idea that I've seen: if you have stake pockets run the chain down through the pocket and hook the grab hook on the top lip of the stake pocket. That way if the load loosens gravity with help keep the hook on.

And you can weld on short sections of square tubing that will 'look' like stake pockets, to do that chain trick too. Rectangular tubing will work too.

pic of the trailer, it has no stake brakets on it. If I was to put the brakets on the trailer they would only be used for chaining down the loads, as the side rails would be in the way to put the stakes in. I do have some 4 inch channel I could use but I think I would have to ad some depth to them so the chain would go through it and hook at the top.

Is that a definite "no", or a maybe "no"? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: NEED ADVICE( can\'t find D-rings in town)

I second the NO.

Take a piece of 3/8 chain with hook when you go shopping. Make sure the hook will slip through the channel or pocket. The hook is actually pretty thick so you don't want to weld on D rings or chain pockets and then find out the hook won't slip through it.

Remember that if you make an attachment for your tractor and it breaks, probably no one else will get killed or maimed. If you drop a tractor off on a highway while doing 70 it could cause a lot of greif. I'd like to see all lawyers starving from lack of work.
