So now I've travelled from Mesa, AZ to Santa Fe, NM. I'm impressed by that Duramax. The trailer is 12000# dry. Its go tons of power in the mountains. The exhaust brake works awesome in the passes. I am sort of a ford guy I guess but this truck really rocks. Its a little light when the interstate is rough(I don't like when the trailer tends to pull the trailer upwards on some unexpected bumps) but it still feels planted with strong cross winds. Cruising speed has been 63-71mph. It runs real nice at 66mph, I wonder if that's because we are on the old route 66???

All the new trucks are amazing. I have a 06 F350 and have nearly 200HP worth of mods. I got a chance to drive a bone stock 2013 F250 and it had about the same power.

Its amazing how good both the gas and diesel trucks have gotten since about 2007.

I figured I'd give you the final outcome on the trip and experience. We took 14 days to make it back about 3500 kms. Everything really well except for the last leg of the trip where we hit a fox or something. Damaged the front bumper (nothing major) but the squirting on the bottom of the rv got ripped out along with some plumbing pipes. Without the skirting the tanks and plumbing frozen, so I couldn't even winterize it. We lost a day getting it thawed and winterized and an RV dealer. Biggest thing is we made it home in one piece.

I wish. The truck is my dads. Actually driving the truck unloaded isn't the most enjoyable thing. It's pretty stiff suspension. Apparently when he first test drove it from the dealers lot it had a lift kit and was stiffer yet. My dads not real tall either so didn't. Help either. He got them to put it back to factory height before he took delivery of it.

Now i go back to my ford (lincoln lt).
