Need advice on hireing ALien

This past year was the first year I have ever had employees. I found out that one of my employees had been an illegal after the job was over and she was gone. She had the right paperwork and she was a real good worker so I didn’t even think to question her. I later found out the paper was false but she did pay real taxes and we paid real taxes while she worked for us. I am a farmer not the police or an INS officer. We sent in the employment verification as required. At that point we should have got a call but instead she worked through the project, paid taxes, and did a good job for us.

Some people want to penalize the employer but I think that if the employer did what he was supposed to do in getting the paperwork it is not their fault.

Soundguy, you did a good job of detective work but if the government really cared they would handle these issues.

This guy had paperwork.. but obviously stolen or faked.. if he hadn't had such a wild birthday i would have never noticed.. It showed he was 60!.. when in reality he was closer to 30! The person he bought it from shoulda made it a tad more credible.....

Dobbs has an hour long show daily on CNN. He also writes columns on CNN's website. Dobbs is a no-nonsense commentator who is highly critical of U.S. policy on illegal immigration, jobs outsourcing, and trade policy. He spends almost 15 min. every day on the TV show highlighting stories like yours of government lunacy in illegal immigration cases. I have no doubt you'd like his style and beliefs. A lot of other people describe him as a common-sense Democrat (like conservative Democrats of 40 years ago but minus racial prejudices). As far as I know, Dobbs doesn't claim to belong to any party. He is ruthless in his criticism of members of any party when that person supports policies that allow American jobs to be taken by illegal immigrants or to be shipped off to other countries, and of anything that benefits non-U.S. citizens anywhere in the world at the expense of American workers.

Pretty much just wasting your time. Here in KAULIFORNIA ( Schwarzenegger's pronunciation) they are on the street corners by the dozens, pcking up day jobs, and one city wants to FORCE Home Depot into making a lounge for the Illegal Aliens, scratch that, I think they're called, visitors, Drug entrepreneur…wondering international adventurer, pharmaceutical explorer,sex doctors for the young, international sex mentors for younger minds, foreign pleasure experts,entrepreneurial cop killers and thugs.

As of last week per the President they are now called......Our newly “sensitive” President Bush adopted the preferred Mexican code word and repeatedly described illegal immigration as “migration.” He made it clear that the United States ought to find a way to accommodate these “migrants,” who would not be doing anything wrong at all if it were not for that big, bad border. Remember the mantra: Border bad, migrants good.

Lastly if a Boarder patrol office goes to prison for shooting an Illegal Drug smuggler, what chance do we have?

I read that there are 14 million illegal aliens here. I have no sense if how big exactly 14 million is but I guess it overwhelms the Government too. Sadly the Government right now seems to me like one huge bunch of incompetents who can't do anything right. And the worst part is that they have rigged up the system so I don't even know who to blame.
