The newer HD drawbar mount/PTO shield comes with the backhoe subframe kit, generally the old one is just thrown away-no need to change them.

I also have used helicoils with great successes, I've read great things about timeserts but have no personal experience with them.

Yes, they gave me the original one that came with the tractor prior to the BH install when I bought it. I have kept it available in case I need a boat anchor in the future. Yep, leave the new one on and never put the original back on. Best of luck to you and enjoy your set-up. I just love my 2520 and have been so impressed on what it can do. I have kept my bigger tractor the 1710 but have found that I almost never need it for anything. I should sell it but I have a hard time parting with anything that is well made and in great shape.
