Remote fans are great. The last kitchen remodel I did, I put the fan in the garage attic, so it was very quiet. In my bathrooms, I have remote fans in the attic and you can hardly hear them. I have them on timers or they would be accidentally running all the time.

Did too. One press of the button, fan stays on for 10 minutes. Double press (like a mouse double click), stays on for an hour. Hold it down for 4 seconds, stays on until turned off. The fan in the main bathroom is also paired to a humidity sensor that would turn on/off the fan based on relative humidity.
