Rotary Cutter Need advise on what rotary Cutter I should buy?

I don't want to hijack this thread anymore than I already have. I'll do some searching into position control. I've always assumed 3 point hitch arms always floated up, regardless of position control or draft control. I thought it was the weight of the implement that kept them down.....

Off to google searching.

Nope position control is set it and forget. It maintains what ever height you set it at. i think the kubotas usually have a control rod linkage that ties to into the valve to maintain the set point

Piston I think you are correct but I think others are mis-understanding.

Position control is, set the lever in a position, and the 3PH has a corresponding position. By Float up, you are correct. There is no down pressure on most tractors. Back a bushhog up a hill, and you will see it "float" up. Same reason people always suggest chaining down the 3PH if towing a trailer...so it cannot float up.

When using a Brush hog type implement I have a adaptor that mechanically floats the toplink do to the three point not moving or not moving fast enough.

After seeing Teds primer I guess the position control does height and just that. Why else as Piston said would you use a downforce kit with a PHD.

I have a Bush Hog and it is rated for 2" but it has no problems with thicker stuff. One thing to think about, do you pile brush in piles, if so your tractor has to be able to lift your mower up with ease.

Thanks for all of your advise, you all have helped me with this decision and I have decided to go with the lighter Land Pride. I really appreciate all of you who responded and your knowledge. You helped make this easier for me.

Thanks again.

Just got delivery of my new Land Pride RCF 2060 mower. I wanted to thank all who commented to help me make my choice. Here are a few pictures of the mower.
