fried,

Any more info or pictures of what you have? I am in the hunt for a new set of tires and rims for my 1920 and mine has the oddball big tire option with the 14.9x24 rears as well. They would have to be shipped to me as well though so not sure if your interested in that headache or not.

Query, you say oddball big tires....do you have the agricultural tires with bar tread which would be 14.9 x 24?
Or do you have the turf tires, like smaller lawn mowers have? They would be on 16.1 rims and quite wide looking like big lawn mower tires.

What about the fronts?

If 4wd, you have to keep ratio between front and back the same .

I am looking for Bar tires. Old style tractor tires.

Thanks

Yes mine are R1 ag tires in 14.9-24. Here is a link to the new rubber I have on order for mine, hopefully I will see them tomorrow.
Super All Traction II 23deg Tire - Firestone Commercial

Why I called an oddball is this was an optional larger tire size on these tractors and not what most of them run. I found this out when I had to replace my front tires a couple years ago and the guy at the tire shop ordered them from the "books" and they were the wrong size when they arrived. So I did some searching online and found a few places that mentioned a large tire option which has the 14.9-24 on the rear and I dont recall what the matching fronts are off the top of my head.

13.6x24 and 14.9x24 tires can be used with the same rim.

Yes they can but the recommended width for the 14.9x24 is 13" which nobody makes apparently so mine are going on 12" wide rims which is recommended for the 13.6x24.

14.9x24 mates with 8x16 on front.
13.6 x24 mates with 7x16 up front

Turf tire rims are 16.1 in rear and 15 in front.

Appear to be 8 holes on 8 inch circle in back, but FRONTS are an oddball 5 bolt on a 4 1/2 or 4 3/4 bolt circle.

I find NO 5 bolt rims the fit 7 x16 or 8x16 tires with lug pattern described.

But you need either 7 inch or 8 inch tires.

I assume tractor tires grow taller as they get wider like car tires do. I think the size we need call for a 5.5 inch rim.

6 inch tires for 16 inch rims are readily available and they will handle the weight. I have seen 6 inch ag tires for 15 inch rims , but they were only 6 inches wide. I think these were 27 inches tall. They also required tubes.

I can buy the 14.6 x 24 on rims online, but need to know the o.d. of the tire, and cannot get an answer. BTW, thanks for the link.

The issue is the diameter vs back tire to not stress the 4wd setup.

Yous should be able to go to tire manufacturers website and get circumference or O.D. on the different sizes to see if you can get something to be the right diameter.

Just a quick search found me these results
8-16 = 31.3" O.D.
7-16 = 29.2" O.D.

Personally I think I would be calling one of these about the front wheels as other than needing a coat of paint I am sure they are all in useable condition.
