Need Air Compressor and Bench Grinder advice.

I would try 90 PSI first and then work your way up. 175 PSI is a bit much.

Tractor Supply will know. They should be able to "kit" your compressor. I would think that they would have regulators also.

They seem to have cheap 1/4 NPT Regulators in stock, I looked around today.The outlet is either 3/4 NPT or 1/2 NPT I think it is 3/4

You are buying on heck of a compressor. You won't be disappointed. Close to mine in size but yours has much more CFM. I would say 1/4" NPT fittings. Maybe even 3/8" NPT. I doubt 1/2" NPT or 3/4" NPT. Regulators are not high tech. They either work or they don't.

If the new Ingersol Rands are built as well as the old ones you will really like the new compressor, I use 2 1987 models of the 5 hp 60 gallon vertical type for auto body tools/garage use and so far the tools haven't been able to out run the compressors combined output of 22cfm@90psi
Also other than oil changes, draining water and cleaning the air filters neither has ever required ANYTHING

definitely run your standard air tools at around 90 psi -running at 175psi will void the warranty and could cause (catastrophic) failure of some.. Enjoy the new compressor:thumbsup:

i''ll Prob pick this one up this week, Now I need Regulator help, I can' seem to find a decent one, I would like it to adjust to the full 175 PSI this Compressor will put out.

Actually the pressure switch on most compressors will be set to just below the rated pump pressure (cut out pressure) then once the pressure drops a certain amount they re-start the compressor(cut in pressure), and some compressors come equipped with a regulator after the pressure switch, right from the manufacturer. Neither of my Ingersols had the regulator though...

If you don't turn the adjustment knob to change the regulated pressure fairly often, you have problems with it when you need it the most. When I had a 60 gallon compressor, I had a regulator I could take apart, clean, and re-install. And with the 30 gallon compressor I currently have, the regulator died recently, so I bought a new one. But instead of installing it in the usual way, I put quick connectors on it, and of course have a quick connector at the compressor so I can unplug the hose and put the regulator on anytime. But normally I'm just using the compressor's full power of about 150 psi without the regulator being inline.

I may put a t in line, so I'll have the reg on one out put and a full power port. I use 1/4 NPT Fittings, but the threads off of the compressor ball valve is 3/4 Thread I think.
