I have a book somewhere that says if you are not regularly shooting at the range, I think monthly minimum, then you are not prepared. MotorSeven was suggesting the same thing.
I don't know how many women at work have guns stashed in their car, not in a safe, but enough. I know two women that have had guns stolen from either their car or house because the guns were not in a safe when they were not at home or in their car. Another women opened up her console between the seats and flashed her unsecured gun. I wonder how good of aim these women have.
At our house our first line of defense is fence. Not much of a deterrent but it keeps the dogs in which is the second line of defense. But we don't have any killer dogs, one is getting cataracts and is hard of hearing so he is not the best watch dog. Another one would pee in fear. One more that has good eyes and ears, is alert but not big or intimidating. We do not discuss the third line of defense but I hope my cell signal works out in the country. It is a bit spotty at times.
