Art..... when do Kubota dealers have to have the snow blower orders in by?? When does the manufacturer start to ship out the new orders?? I would have assumed that ordering was an ongoing process and delivery is an ongoing process, but from your comment, it seems that they stop shipping at a certain point.... ie: When they run out. Then they build up the inventory and just stock pile it for the next season? I know that if you order a snow plow for a truck, they manufacturer them year round and ship when you order.

We do our main order I believe in June for Kubota blowers. Many of the things in this industry are nine months in advance. This year we are running low on most all styles and makes we sell if not totally out for the season. Sometimes it is frustrating as Kubota did there job this year but there vendor has been slow and behind as they had a good selling season themselves for there brand which set them behind. I do believe Kubota will address this for the coming season with them. You just don't do that to a major company and get there buisness the next year. I feel fortunate that we have what we have had shipped this year in time for the season. I can't tell you how many blowers we have gone thru this year but I'd say a couple hundred any way between the different brands and applications. We have also changed to try and have them here all year long for delivery. We used to just fill the main orders in the fall and deliver them then but we found out to do it all year long is a smoother flow and seems to spread the work load out.

Long time since my last post but I finally have something useful to add. Chappell is out of Snowblowers of anykind as of last Friday 12-12-03. I did pick up one of the Meteors mentioned by Hazmat for $1445.00 for my BX2200 it worked great monday moring after that snow/ice storm. It seems reasonably well built and it was available. Got it at Toreku in Harvard Ma. They had one 51" left when I left Saturday afternoon.

Re: Need good price on new/used snowblower New Eng

AndyM is selling a 63" "FORD" snowblower and Ed says he has a 60" Allied/Buhler for sale.

Which is a better snowblower? I have seen ads for the Allied/buhler/FarmKing before and supposedly it is a very good unit. But I know nothing about the Ford unit.

Any opinions or comments?

I am considering each one.

Thanks, TimP

Oh, I know it was just a slip of the finger! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

But do you seriously think that anyone on TBN is going to let a "slip" like that slip by without making a wisecrack?? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I didn't mean for you to think that I was implying that you were trying to mislead anyone. I was just having a little fun at your expense!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Stick around. I bet you won't have to wait very long to get your revenge!! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Need good price on new/used snowblower New Eng

Tim,

I just got back from my dealer (needed to pick up oil & filter). Of course I was playing 20 questions regarding blowers. He said Allied/Farm King was a good unit. Also that AndyMA's Ford was probably made by the parent company of Blizzard (can't remember what it was) also a well built unit. He talked me out of the 5 foot models for my tractor. He had a Puma & Blizzard 64" in stock. They were huge compared to a TC18.

Re: Need good price on new/used snowblower New Eng

I have the Blizzard 64" & it seems fairly well constructed. It was new this fall so no long term test results but, early indications are that it works very well. My drive is not paved but is pretty level, I set the skids on the lowest notch for maximum lift, <1" +- & so far, so good. It's made by RAD Technologies in Quebec. www.radinter.com
