I've searched and read a lot of posts on this topic, but need to ask anyway. I'm looking to replace my Ford 850 with a new CUT. Partial to NH, but open to Kubota and JD due to dealer servicing strengths. It will be used with a 6' rotary cutter mowing 15 acres or rolling field, 2 bottom plow and disc for food plots and large garden areas, and plowing snow on a 1/4 mile drive with steep grade. The 850 did a great job last year with a couple of snowfalls over 2 feet deep since it has an old front mounted plow and filled tires, but she's getting tired. I was thinking 40 hp, 4wd, standard gears. I'd rather use a front blade than a blower for snow. Any experienced users with similar situations? Please offer suggestions. Thank you.

I think you are on the right track. Think 33ish hp and up for the 6' mower. 4wd is great for slopes as it lets the front wheels do some braking. HST is nice.. but then again.. gears are cheaper if you don't mind.
Just about anything new from the big 3 that you get will have a DS clutch or IND pto.. so you should find that as an improvement over your non-live 5spd stacked tranny and single plate clutch your trusty old ford sports. PS is all but assured as well.

Have you looked at the new JD4120? Its 44hp but a really nice machine, an could likely handle the tasks with ease. In a smaller frame size, JD has the 3520 and the 3720, sporting 37 & 44hp respectively.
I'm actually partial to the New Holland TC40, largely because I like the layouts of the operators platform and the loader design and strengths.
As Soundguy pointed out, the 4wd, power steering and creature comforts of the new machines will be a nice upgrade from the old iron. 4wd allows you to go to a smaller and lighter tractor but still maintain the traction of a heavier 2wd model, you'll appreciate the 4wd on the hills in the snow!

Suggest you look at the Deere 990..40 Gross HP, 35 @ the PTO and 9x3 transmission.
I'm pretty sure your 850 was a gear tractor so you know all the tasks you've written can be done with a gear transmission.
Other brands are great too...the lesser known brands will depend on your mechanical skills and patience if you have to wait for parts.

a Ford 850 is early 90's vintage? You have an advantage by currently owning a tractor and not needing a lot of direction HP wise but brand wise. Soundguy is right on the money with there being little chance for disappointment with the big three but I would also add that most any tractor out there today is a far cry from your Ford that has served you well. Today's machines are ssssooo much better than you can imagine. Test drive a new tractor and you won't believe what manufacturers have brought to the table.

I'm suprised you didn't suggest the 2615HST. I too have the same tractor and I can run a 6' brush hog through 7' tall weeds with ease. And for pushing snow the 15" wide rear R-4 tires would be a plus, not to mention the 2500lb weight.
I'm about to sell mine but for only one reason. The South Texas is a bit much for me. If Mahindra made factory cab for the 2615 or 3015 I'd buy Mahindra again in a heartbeat.

Roy, do you happen to recall a couple threads where people were asked to not inject brands that were not asked for? Basically suggesting in a polite way that when someone asks about specific brands, such as this poster did when he asked about 3 specific brands, that we should all respect the poster and not inject other brands into the thread? Here we have a guy who has a Ford, he said he is partial to 3 brands because he can get good service. We also have people injecting brands that he didn't ask about. Now there techincally is no rule against it, but it sure is not polite.
