Tires Need help finding front tire

Would a 5.5/16 actually fit the rim? If so, that is readily available for $52. A 4.0 tire sounds mighty narrow. That is the same width as most wheelbarrow tires.
Look at your owners manual to see if there are multiple sizes that will fit the rim. Going to a narrower rim with a 5.5 tire might work. However, there is no way you will ever make a 4.0 tire work on a much wider 5.5 rim.
The 4.0 tire might have been a money saving measure by the factory if it was the original tire.

Where did you buy your tractor from? I think your dealer would be the best bet to find that size. Miller Tire, Firestone, Titan and Michelin do not carry that size from my quick looking at their websites. Other then your dealer I would go to your local tire store and ask them if they can find one.

There just aren't too many of the little 2wd Jinmas around. I think Homier has probably sold the most. The 20hp 2wd is here: Farm Pro 2010 Tractor Series, but I dont' see tires in their parts list. I'd contact them anyway, on the off chance they have a parts tractor from which they can cannabilize onemjack said:
Otherwise, about the smallest 16" front tractor tire you're going to find - that has decent sidewalls anyway - may be the 5.50x16. Being a little wider, it might make steering a little harder - uless you got the power steering version. Might have to adjust the front turn stops too, which decreases your turn radius marginally. It's only 4wd tractors that you have to worry about mis-matched front/rear rolling radius.

The tire is listed in the link Greg provided. The part number is GB/T2979-1991. They also list the tube with the same part number. It's listed under "Directive Wheel" in the parts list.

Good catch Rodger. I'd have never pegged a directive wheel as a tire. If anything, I might have guessed rim. But once I open the graphic, I see it represents rim-tube-tire.RodgerF said:
