Need Help. Ford 2000 wont run right in higher gears.

I bought a 69 ford 2000 gas tractor with 8 speed tranny. I have 2 problems.
1. The tractor seems to run fine in all lower gears but boggs down to the point of stalling in gears 3 and 4 high.
2. I have to pull throttle to my lap before it seems to do anything. Is there a way to adjust it.

Any help would be appreciated.

try a bit of choke in higher gears and see if it picks up the power. not full choke. just experement with varrying levels.

If it helps. check the carb. if it's a zenith, you can adjust it some.. but I suspect it's still a holley...
