I am needing a member with a lathe willing to cut a hole in a schedule 80 PVC clean-out cap like the attached picture. All I need is the larger center hole cut for the rubber stopper, and it is important that the hole be centered and at the same angle as the rubber stopper taper (hence needing it done on a lathe). I am able to do the rest using a drill press. If you can assist please PM me.

My son is a member if the IPLA and this is part of a high tech project that I'm making for him. Have any idea what the IPLA might be? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

CTyler you guessed it.

The IPLA = International Potato Launching Association

This combustion launcher with a chamber/barrel ratio of .8:1 will hurl spuds at approximately 375 MPH when finished. This check valve will be used in conjunction with a brushless fan mounted within the combustion chamber for quick venting after every shot.

Be careful out there. We wouldn't want an epitaph reading "Death by Potato" . /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If the Hawaiian shirt guy cannot get the job done for you. Send me a PM. My lathe is all cleaned up from the last project.

I've made a couple in the past /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My SIL has couple, the favorite one uses compressed air. No idea have fast or far but it shoots a long way.

I remember being about 11-12 and taping tin soda cans together cutting the ends out of the top two. Stuff a tennis ball in and put lighter fluid in side hole in the bottom can. Worked fairly well. Didn't know what a potato gun was then.

How about grinding a regular wood bit to the proper angle??
