Need help hooking up backhoe attachment

I have a International 464 Diesel tractor that I want to put a backhoe attachment on. My problems is hooking up hydraulics. I just bought a Bush Hog 862 backhoe attachment that still has the original paint on the bucket and has been sitting in a barn. It was originally on a skid steer.
My tractor has two steel hydraulic line that are capped off at the rear of the tractor and I hoping someone can tell me if I can run the backhoe from them. I know I will have to get couplers to match the one on the backhoe. Actually hooking the backhoe up to the tractor is not going to be a problem. Just the running hydraulics and I really can't afford to buy a pto hydraulic pump right now.

Do you know if the hyd on your tractor are open center hyd?

If the BH hyd and the tractor hyd are the same, then you should be able to plug into one of the remotes QD's and bungee the lever to operate that work port.

If your BH is a two hose BH, plug the IN/pressure hose to the A work port at on the remotes.

Run the BH OUT hose to the hyd fill cap.

If the BH is a three hose unit, we can make other arrangements.

I am going to try and post pictures of both. The two capped hoses on the tractor go to some sort of box beside the controls for the three point hitch,etc but I can't see any kind of lever,etc to turn them on or off. I can build any type of furniture, build my own sawmill, etc but when it comes to hydraulics, I'm lost. Thanks so much for you help.

How to you tell if it is an open center system or not. The tractor is a 1973 model I think if that helps.

Can you identify which line is the pressure line. You could use a hyd gage and find out.

Do you have a lever/valve to control the fluid to the two lines that have plugs in them.

The simple way to connect the BH is this, since your BH is a two hose BH, you need one pressure line going to the BH IN hose, and then run the other BH hose to the tractor fill cap.

J.J. is on the right track. I cant help but think that there is a lever next to the right fender (next to the 3 point lever?) to operate a rear remote. the only thing here is that someone caped off the lines instead of installing a pair of quick couplers. Do you have a lever/valve that doesnt seem to do anything? if so, then my money says that lever runs the rear remote. Its not very likely that your tractor has a closed center hydraulics.

One way to tell if the hyd system is open center or closed center is to install a hyd gage in a tee in the IN port of the first valve, and if all valve levers are in neutral, the open center system will have very low to no pressure.

A closed center hyd system will have high pressure or standby pressure.

Thank you guys so much!!!!!!!!! I took a cover off and looked where Steve was talking about and found a thing under there (don't know what you call it) that was supposed to have a lever, but there was just a nail in it. Where its located looks like your foot would hit it a lot and I know the guy that had it the last 10 years or so never used anything with hydraulics, so I figure it either broke or they took it off.
I still not sure if it works but I have faith it will. So far there hasn't been anything on this old tractor that hasn't worked. I've had it about a year and a half and its never even used a drop of oil and I run it pretty hard at least 2 or 3 times a week. I built a set of forks for the 3 point hitch out of an old forklift and use it to move logs and lumber around for my bandsaw mill.
Since forks are about all I use, every once in a while a finish mower or a scoop for cleaning out a ditch, don't you think I could also use this connection for a cylinder where the top link is to make my forks tilt.
I believe I'm going to be able to just take the forks off and make up something so the backhoe will mount on the thing the forks mount on. Since it was on a skid steer before I have to change things around anyway.
Once I get the caps off tomorrow, I will go to Tractor Supply and try and figure out what connections I need to put on the tractor to hook to the backhoe and I will let you guys know if it works. I need the hydraulics to work before a build something to mount it to.
I don't have or know anyone that has a hydraulic gauge to hook to it so does anyone have a idea on how I tell which one of the tractor line is the pressure side or in side ???????????

You need to find out how many GPM your tractor puts out and if the internal hyd's. have enough capacity without overheating. The way to make a hoe operate smoothly is to use 2 controls at the same time whenever possible. If you don't have enough hyd. flow it can be frustrating. A skid steer almost has too much flow for a backhoe but you can throttle down.
