Ok, I'm back working on my backhoe again, finally!!!! I got sick again and havn't been able to do anything for the last few weeks. I figured out the hydraulic lines and went and bought some tractor quick coupling and took off the ones that were on the backhoe. They were the type for a bobcat and it cost more for just one set (one male one female) than what I could buy 6 sets of the tractor type. I was able to mount the backhoe to my forklift setup, the only thing I had to do was cut off the part on the bottom on the backhoe attachment the the rod would go through when you push the lever down on a bobcat. The top slips right in the inverted v part on top just like a bobcat would. I then welded a piece of angle on each side and drilled holes through it and the backhoe so that I can use two 1/2" bolts on each side. That keeps the backhoe from lifting up or moving side to side. Then I used the original bobcat fasteners that fit in a u piece welded on the backhoe and extended them down to the reinforced lifting arms I have on the tractor. All that works great and is fairly easy to hook up.
Now my problem is, the backhoe is a lot slower than it should be. I have to make sure the lever on the hydraulic thing on the right hand side of the tractor where the lines go to the back of the tractor is all the way in and can't come out any at all or it will slow down even more or if it comes out to far, the backhoe won't work at all. I'm going to a grand opening of a new Tractor Supply in Bessemer Alabama in the morning and get new filters and hydraulic fluid. I hope that will help if not, then I don't know what to do. Would a power beyond port make any difference. I want to add another hydraulic lever so that when I'm not using the backhoe, I can replace my top link with a hydraulic cylinder, that way I can tilt my forks some and make picking up logs and setting then on the mill easier.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
The backhoe will dig but like I said its kinda slow and doesn't seem to have the power it should. I've owned a couple of backhoes that were mounted on bobcats and this is the same size and type as the others I've had but right now something is just not right. I believe I saw in the manual the other day that the tractor is a 8gpm pump and the backhoe says not to use over 12gpm. While I'm not as concerned about speed as I am strength. I need to put a thumb on it to pick up end pieces, etc on logs since I'm no longer able to pick up much at all myself.
