Need help John Deere power steering

looking at the pic's i have the 8 piston pump.

I went of the pic's and belive iI have the 8 piston pump. I need to buy a column and the two lines # 32 and 4. Do you know anyone parting out a 1020 with power steering. I already bought the priority valve.

this tractor has a Johndeere loader and looking at the pic's i thank it's a 8 piston pump. whith a closed center does it have the galley built into the clutch housing.

Looking in the book your a 100 % right with the priority valve needed on a closed center and not a open center. I have a closed center and about to by a steering column and the lines and try it. I'll lrt you know how it works. Doe's anyone have a oem power steering column for sale????

Are you looking at a very early 1020 that had a separate open Center power steering pump and an open Center steering assist unit ?

my tractor is a 1969 with a closed center with a 8 piston pump. qto make it work all it needs is the steering column, the two lines and a priority valve which i allready have. still need the column and the two lines.

I'll bet chevgmc12 '69 engine block would not be built to accept the open center PS pump seeing that early & late blocks have a different part number.

From viewing 1020 parts catalog there is no mention of power or manual steering in "parts remarks" with any of the 3 clutch housing choices so I think any 1020 clutch housing will have the PS return oil galley built into it.

chevgmc12 never stated he was adding """an open center""" priority valve similar to photo but you did state that. Open center hyd such as early 1020 didn't need a priority valve because that system utilized 2 hyd pumps similar to tractors built today.

I bought all parts to change over my steering to power steering and started to install the parts and ran into a problem with the priority valve, the priority valve has two holes on the back side with o-rings. on the tractor the two holes are there but one has a ball bearing in it blocking the hole. How do I get the ball bearing out?

Is it possible the "ball bearing" is to stop flow in one direction?
