A few years ago I moved my rear wheels outward for more stability on the slopes of the home I was in. When I moved last fall I needed to prep a 4 foot wide path to my pole barn for a new walkway. The bucket on my Kubota B7500 is 4 foot wide but I needed to move the tires back in to their original position. Now that the path project has been finished I started to move the tires back out but am having trouble getting them to move. The pin and lock bolt with wedges came out easily and I managed to move one tire a little but that's all. I've sprayed PB blaster in the shaft and let it sit but that didn't help. I have the wheels on the hub with loaded tires and that was how I moved them before with no problem - just pulling from the side. I'm trying to do this without having to wrestle the loaded tires off and on. How do you guys do this. Do I need to take the tires off?

Driving the tractor and applying one brake at a time CAREFULLY, should loosen the wheel and allow you to then slide it out.

PB is good, but I've been mixing a 50/50 concoction of acetone and ATF and it works much better. Mix it in a metal oil can and you'll have better control of delivery too.

Thanks for the replies guys. 100 TD, I tried your method and could not get the wheel to move outward, but it did move in a little past it's original position. Musta made a "wrong turn somewhere. ;-) I ended up biting the bullet and removing the tire. Thought I might have to put a bearing puller on the hub but to my surprise it moved very easily with no resistance. So much so that I was surprised that the weight of my loaded 33 inch tires put that much pressure on the axle and made it that difficult to move. Since I can't lift the tire I have to jockey it around in position then adjust the jack height so the studs line up. But it didn't end up taking that long to do. Hopefully though, this will be the last time.
