Hi folks!

I've not made to many posts but I have done a lot of good reading here on the board. Anyway, I have a B2710 4wd hydrostat that the fan belt is getting frayed. I have bought a replacement, but I don't have a shop manual. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to replace the fan belt? Is it a job best suited for a professional?

Thanks in advance for any info or pointers anyone can provide.

Charles

The only thing in my WSM for the fan belt is how to check if it needs replacing.
Not much on the water pump either. Try loosening the tensioner and see if it will slip over the fan blades. Otherwise you will have to remove the fan. Which may require that radiator be removed. :(

Charles..
I changed the fan belt on my B7800 when I installed the alternator conversion kit. If your B2710 is similar, it's not a big a job. Loosen the dynamo and slide it to release the tension and then get the belt off the pulleys. It's tight quarters in there...the most tedious part is wiggling the belt between each of the fan blades and the fan shroud. Rotate the fan and slide the belt over 1 blade at a time. Have a good look first, plan your attack and take your time doing it. Just reverse the procedure to install the new belt. Good luck!

Thanks for the tips guys. I believe I will have my uncle who is a mechanic to change it since I am not to mechanically inclined. But I will print this thread out for him to use as reference. The owner's manual isn't much help either.
