Need help on Century 3035

Just need some help. Neighbor has a Century 3035 and has had it for about 2 years and has managed to put 135 hours on her. He has had no problems. Today he is out mowing with it and noticed hyd. fluid coming out of a breather under the seat. He shut her down and came home. Checks fluid level and seems with in range. He goes back out to mow....now keep in mind he is mowing hillside so the tractor is not operating on level ground. More fluid starts to come out....not gushing but enough to cover everything with oil and drip to the ground. He has mowed this area quite a few times and never had any leaks. Any idea why this would just start?????????

I think your fluid is diesel fuel from the tank breathers under the seat.

Hi. If the fluid is coming from the transaxle fill plug/ breather hole it may just be hot fluid and the slope. If it was coming from the fuel tank breather it could be just the slope and hot fuel. When I changed my transaxle fluid it was more towards the upper mark of the full mark (low/ -half-/ full marks). When I was doing alot of hoe work and was positioned on a relatively steep grade towards the filler, I ended up with fluid dripping out of my breather hole on the "fill tube". It was rather a steep twisted slope and the fluid was hot and expanded. I checked the fluid when it was cool and it lowered substantially. I cleaned the area and didn't change anything since I believe it was the position of the tractor on the slope. Haven't had any problems since. I hope this helps.

You are correct. After I traced the hoses it was in fact fuel and not hyd. oil as my neighbor said it was. Fuel tank just was to full.!!!!
