Undate on the 350 JD sickle bar. Weight: 630 pounds
Cat 1 & 2 three point Hitch; knife stroke 1800 per min, up and down angle 45degrees perhaps this will help someone I do believe if one is careful it should work

Fisherman, 630 LB is nothing for a 30 HP. The weight would be real determining factor if the attachment you were pulling was only slipping, because the weight would then be determining factor for total friction force between the mower and the ground. In this sickle bar mower case, the main force which will absorb the power of tractor is the reactional force of cutting knives moving against the grass. And, I don't think you will have any problem with that 7 ft mower. If you have, just lower its lenght to 6' or 5'. First, test that 7' mower by using a 30 HP tractor before buying it. If its weight (630 lb) causes some problems when lifting the mower? Then, add some weights in front of tractor for balancing it. Take it easy and good luck.
