Need help with charging problem

I just noticed my charging light was staying on. I took the battery to have it checked they said it was bad so I spent $115.00 for a new one. Get home install new battery plus hook up my battery charger to make sure it was fully charged. Started the tractor the charging light is still on but much dimmer then before. Anyone know how to further check the charging system for other possible problems. I am starting to get annoyed at this tractor I just had to put a new hydraulic pump on it about a month ago plus several new lines also,and convert the power steering box over to the new style of steering plumbing. I am at the point now I am seriously considering trading it in on a different model by the way it just top 246 hrs today. October will be 3 years that I have had it. I think I got a LEMON.

Was your new battery fully charged when you put it in or did it come off the shelf? Sometimes the vehicles charging system will not catch up if its real low. Or put your battery on a small charger for the required time and you should be set
