Tractor Sizing Need Help with Right Tractor Size for Property

I too live far away from my country property. I live in Florida and keep a place in central Pennsylvania. He's some considerations for a long-distance relationship with your new Tractor:

Insurance - Add a rider onto your home insurance for the tractor. If it gets stolen or valdalized, the insurance pays.

Keep the tank full - prevents condensation!

Trickle charge the battery - I use a cheap trickle charger when I'm gone for long periods. It works great!

Raise the tractor up on blocks - I put wood blocks under the frame in the winter to raise the tires off the ground. I've been worried about getting flat-spots on the tires when it sits for a few months in cold weather.

Enjoy your new place.... Send pictures!

I'm with Soundguy on size. Get a tractor that will handle 15 foot cutter or you'll spend a whole weekend just cutting 40a and neglecting other chores that pile up with uninhabited property. If a dealer is far, I'd get a rebuilt older tractor without much gagetry that can't be fixed with a wrench. You should be able to find a reconditioned 80-100hp with loader, cutter, blade, whatever tool your heart desires for less than a 45hp new compact ..without attachments. In my area reconditioned JD4020, NH7xxx are around $10-15K. I'd make sure it had synchro transmission, and be wary of powershift type unless you can verify it's rebuilt.
