Probably but knowing Shoup (I buy my disc mower blades and skid shoes from them, They aren't too keen on Chinese stuff). Been dealing with them a long time and they are Illinois farmers as well.

Yeah, they definitely buy the best they can and that's usually American. Even this buggy top is beautifully made. It's possible parts are USA.
Many of their smaller parts, pins and such are Taiwan.

Today it's very hard to stay competitive and not buy offshore, especially fasteners. Most of the cold headers went out of business. They cannot compete wage wise or material wise. Same with foundries. The EPA put most of them out of business. I used to do business with Elyria Foundry. They made high quality cast brass fittings and were nice folks too. Gone as well as the jobs.

We live in a sad sack country today and that is all I have to say on that subject without getting censored.

When you have people with college degrees flipping burgers at fast food joints, something is very wrong.

I'm the OP and tested out the buggy top installation on a recent 30+ mile tractor drive. The top held perfect at 10 mph with a modest 5-7mph cross wind. Not even a flutter so it will take more. I was completely shaded.

Plus, I can pull the pins and remove or reinstall the top in seconds so it looks good at a parade or whatever.

I'm the OP on this with a couple more notes. There were two widths of buggy tops, narrow and wide. I couldn't decide which to go with but went with the wide and it was the right choice. Your fenders will have to be set wide like mine in the pics. The narrow top is tough to get on the tractor and won't fit a hat underneath.

You drill the mounting holes in the fenders to the back of the support brace that runs vertically on the inside of the fender. My holes brush the edge of the bracket and you need that room. Ask if you want pictures.

Choices for a top are white and red. The white looks dirty fast and the red can fade. I went with red, fold it up on extended time in the barn and toss a plastic tarp over it and the tractor for storage. All good.

When you first adjust it to fit and get it right, mark some lines inside with a Sharpie so you can get it back the same way. Also, I slant my top forward one "click" on high speed (10 mph) rides and it handles the wind better. It also looks better.

Important edit--I wrote the wheels had to be set wide but I meant the fenders have to be set wide. Put the wheels anywhere you want.

I like the top. I might get one (probably white) for my Farmall Cub which is currently not running due to a mysterious “no spark” issue.

My primary use of this tractor is for snowplowing during light snowfalls, but I also use it for some open field work in the summer - mostly pulling a 7 ft cultipacker.

They are surprisingly easy to get running and keep running. Repair is almost intuitive.
