Ive been doing some research and it seems that the "10" series Fords are rather well thought of. I want 4wd and it seems that Manual is the way to go. Here is my question. Of the following Ford models, do they all have pretty much the same workings, just differ in HP, or are they different animals all together? Do any of these models particularly outshine the others? if so, WHY?
5610
6610
7710
7810
8010
thanks in advance.
late post but a few more details----
7810,7910,8210 II where all assembled in Basilton? England and Anwerht ?Belgium ----they have the same drive train as a 7710 just a 6 cylinder motor replacing the 4 cylinder engine----they were brought in to compete in the 100 horsepower market at a reduced cost compared to the TW style tractors---same 6 cylinder engine as the TW 5 and TW 10----the 5610, 6610, 7610 & II were built in in Romeo Mich-- Basilton England and Anwerht Belgium and some in San Paulo Brazil-----in 1986 they began producing the 5900 in Mexico (a 6600 technology level replacement)---engines from the Brazil plant--- they up graded to the 10's after several years---then enlarge the model scheme calling them the S series----5610S,6610S,7610S,7810S (six cylinder 7610S either 2 or 4wd with std tires) and 8010S (only came 4wd with either high clearance or low profile) the high profile was the 6 cylinder version of the 7610S Mudder---a drop axle on all four corners--- many of the English/Belgium built tractors only differ in the type of lights and wiring harness requirements required for the country they were being exported to----many of these tractors have been imported "used" into the US with Europe wiring harnesses----just different lights etc.-----One thing FORD learned from the car business that was a positive was where ever in the world they built a tractor they were "Mostly" the exact same parts----three plants three of the same parts on the tractors-----however when they change to the 40 series and later----one plant built one type of tractor and another plant built another type of tractors---- the S series built in Mexico used alot of the same drive trains as the 40 series just different sheet metal, front axle and fuel tank----- the 3010S and 5010S built in Mexico used the FIAT style drive train-----
