JMA375HH,
Thanks for keeping us informed about this. I was wondering if you would mind posting the part# for the filter you ordered?
I searched and found part# SBA340500980 in another thread, which at Messicks (Messick Equipment and Outdoor Power - New Holland - Kubota - Case IH - Parts, Sales & Service) lists for $56.82 (Case) and $56.27 (New Holland).
However, when I look for New Holland parts that fit my tractor (TC-45D - http://www.messicks.com/TractorParts/NewHolland/TC45-D-DA.aspx), it lists a very simliar part# SBA340500890 (notice the ..890 instead of the ...980) for $20.52.
If I had to guess, the part # for the Winter version is the one everyone says is ~ $60. The two dealers I've spoken with in my area haven't heard of this and haven't had anyone report any problems. (Having said that, they sell mainly large Ag tractors, and very few CUTs or UTs)
Since they have no idea what I'm talking about, I would like to give them the correct part # so they can order it....
Thanks again!
p.s. Followup - Does anyone know if:
1) The Winter filter uses the same part# for all Boomers?
2) There are any service bulletins for the TC45D's, so we could know what else to look for? Is there a way to search the service bulletins like one can for automobiles?
