Yep I got my wife a CX4600 last fall, she loves it. Scans and prints really nice.

I'm on my second HP, and regretting it. I should have learned my lesson the first time.

The first one would stop responding and I'd have to reload the software. I figured it was Windows that caused the problems, but I replaced it with a new HP when I bought my new Dell computer.

Now I have a piece of it that comes uncliped in the paper tray and I have to re-clip it to print anything. Very annoying.

My next printer will be an Epson.

btw, the CX series Epsons have fade and water resistant ink.

Something strange as well, she ordered some cartridges from Epson at 3pm one day and they arrived the next day by UPS !!!??? This has happened 2 times. And I live in the sticks, sunlight is a day late here /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Cheaper for me than driving 30 miles and buying some myself.

I just bought the Epson RX600 all in one. Love it. Prints perfect borderless prints. It also has a little LCD screen and slts for memory cards so I can print pics without the use of the computer. I bought it direct from Epson. They had a 50.00 mail in rebate and then another 30.00 bonus rebate at the time of the purchase.

I'm going to cast my vote for the Canon models. I have had several and have never had a problem. Ink is reasonable.

You may still have this problem even with a new printer unless you "calibrate" your screen to the color palate.

Also, you need to decide if the reason for color is for general printing and/or for photos. For photos you need a much higher quality of printing and you also need to match the output to the paper you are going to use.

Newegg.com has a $50 dollar mail in rebate on the Epson Stylus CX6600 All-In-One Multifunction-Printer, 22 PPM, 5760 x 1440 DPI, Color/ B&W : Printer, Fax, card reader, Copier.
Regular $177 ....after rebate: $127.
Looks to be a factory rebate so other places might have the same offer.

Based on the recommendations you have all made I went ahead and ordered an Epson CX4600 today from http://www.inkjetart.com/ since they had it is stock and shipping was free. I checked several other places and the price was not much different than other places.

Thanks for all the suggestions and help!
