Hello new to room here, Im looking for advise from other B2910 or 7800 owners for the capabilites of this tractor. I live in the Upstate Ny area, Have 5 1/2 acres of various terrain to maintain. I have many stumps to remove, a stream bed to clear , drag several trees, clean up of a pond area. There are also many stump piles and debree from the previous owner to remove. I would also like to do alot of grading and tree planting and running undergound electric to my barn and other parts of the property,so im considering the Bh75 hoe. Is this machine up to these tasks? Thanks for any advice, Matt

Welcome to TBN. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I have a B2910. It will do all of those projects. It is a light weight tractor (1750 lbs) that works very dwell for lawn mowing. To Do the heavy weight work such as digging stumps I find that I would like to have a heavier tractor. It will dig stumps but the last one I dug took over 4 hours with my 4690 BH.
If you do not intend to do lawn mowing with your tractor, consider the L3130 or 3430 tractors. They are priced very close to the B2910.
Here is a project that a fellow TBNer did with his B2910. Click Here and another Click Here

Hello Ron, what would your machine weigh with the rear tires filled? I have been to a few local dealers , i looked at the L3130, i was surprised how big it was, the price range was around 19,000 with the 513 loader and R4 tires filled. The best quote on the B3030 was 16,900 With R4s . I dont want the machine to be underpowerd for its size, from what i read the L3130 seems to be a bit underpowerd for its weight. Then id be looking at the L3430 and I really dont want to go over budget, so i was hoping the B3030 could handle my tasks. I guess you could say im caught in the middle, like many other on here..hehe Matt

I'd look at taking a large B series tractor and putting on a backhoe thats heavier than the stock Kubota hoe... IE... Bradco 509.

Loaded tires on a B2910 would add about 450 lbs. I use a Kubota weight box filled with concrete for ballast. It weighs over 500 lbs. Today I pushed my 6 1/2' FEL mounted snow blade in high range though up to 2' of snow. Had no problems with slipping.
Here is a thread about ballast and Kubota tractors. Click Here. No loaded tires for me.

Have you checked out this site for pricing on B series tractors. Click Here. If your B3030 price includes the FEL. It's a good deal.

Welcome to TBN.

I think the B series can do what you want, I have done a lot of tree removal and grading work with mine. BUT, it is tough work. Not only for the tractor, but for the operator. You and the machine will get some dings and scrapes. Perhaps you should think about calling in someone, rather than beat up your machine.

I look at my machine now and then and think about those hits we took doing the tree work. Sigh....

And BTW, the last acre I attempted to clear, I came to my senses and called in a big cat. Then I only dealt with the brush pile... a chore in itself.

Hello again, very usefull information,. Im looking to purchase in mid march. Also hoping to see finance rates drop a bit. I wont hold my breath though. Im still not sure if i want the R1 or R4 tires, I do have a garden tractor for mowing, but would like to keep that option open for a mmm down the line. Also it seems a tooth bar for the loader would be a benefit.. Thanks again for the help.. Matt

Here's a photo of a project I started this past summer - relocating and replacing the driveway. I used my B2910 and FEL to remove probably 400' of asphalt pavement that was 4" to 6" thick.

The shed in the background is 32' x 28' and sits about 15' behind the asphalt pile. The pile itself is probably over 70' long, 8' to 10' wide, and about 5' high. I wouldn't even want to guess how many tons - probably over 50 ton easy.

I have the R4 tires and have been happy with them thus far. IMHO, they are a better choice than R1's if you plan to mow. I have the 72" MMM and probably 6 acres to mow - it has cut the mowing time to about 1/3 or less than with the Simplicity ZTR with 44" inch deck. Used to be an all day job, now it's a couple of hours.

Attached is photo of another project I did last summer with the backhoe - installed 250' of french drain, along with a catch basin and 20' of culvert under the new road.

Here's a shot of a Willow trunk that fell in the ditch between at the property line and onto my neighbor's yard.

I was a bit of a struggle, but my B2910 was able to drag it out. Then my 18" chainsaw was too short to cut it, when trying from both sides, so I had to borrow my neighbor's 20" saw.

Will is not that heavy, but when in comes in logs this size, it's not light either!

For its size the B2910 tractor is a workhorse, at least around my place... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
