Need kubota L2850 wiring harness

Back in the shop... last fall there was an incident... has gone unmentioned by the owner/operator/boss... some story about brush hogging, large rock, maybe the pto doesn't work now?

Got the sheet metal removed and split at the clutch. Pictures tomorrow... of the broken case. One of the pto idlers is flopping around in the trans case.

Broken parts?



We got a used replacement case, came in today. Bunch of other parts (bearings, seals, gears, etc) on order thru messicks, should be here end of the week. Got my work cut out for me, I start a new job on May 4, so this gotta be wrapped up by May 1, my last full day. Anything left will have to be done evenings or weekends.

Doing rear axle seals and bearings while its apart. One seal had been leaking for a while.



The replacement case is going to take some prep work but I will start swapping gears over today.

Can I ask what this repair is running, parts-wise? Seems like that case would be about a billion dollars from Kubota.

I'm a bit surprised, the insides of that stuff is all painted orange? I did the same repairs on my front axle and it was unpainted inside. The L3650 and L2850 share the same front axle and I think most other parts, IIRC.

Case new from kubota was about $1250. We found a used one for $850. I cleaned it up today, chased all threaded holes, removed a few old bearings that were still in it. I got everything removed from our broken case also. Just waiting on parts now. I'll let you know the parts total once I'm done ordering parts... the list keeps growing. Getting close to $2k in parts now, including the case. Include my labor by the time I'm done and there's another $2k.

I stamped the proper model/serial number on the case where the donor tractor's had been ground off. I also included the date.

Grrrrr... at a stand still... waiting on parts to ship... thought we'd have them Saturday, turns out the didnt even ship till today.

After 2 sick days off from work, I got back to check in the messicks order. Still waiting on a few other parts we had to order from other venders. Was busy with other stuff most of the day, helping bossman get ready for an anual trip to GA to haul back honey bees. With him on the road tomorrow, I should be able to focus on this project all day.

Sorry I haven't updated this lately... between work and a side job helping a h/s friend's grandmother with yard work, and keeping up with stuff at home, I've been super busy. But by friday after noon (my last day of work there), I had the 2850 rolling and ready to fire up... and if not for a dead battery, I would have test drove it. Still missing rear fenders and seat pan, they need some rust repair and paint... but driveable. And my new job starts Monday, so I hope the owner can handle it from there.

I have some pictures but not got them down loaded yet. I'll get them and more details posted soon.
