You wont save any money upgrading to a diesel if you think your gaining mileage when you spend 2 grand a year on tires.. I personally would get a cummins powered truck, If you have a problem, which i have heard about some of the injectors on the Duramax replacement cost was like $1000 each.. Perhaps it was the older engines.. but I dont know of too many duramax engines lasting over 500,000 miles, but do know of plenty of cummins engines going over the 1 million mile mark.. Good luck on your choice !
There are TONS of high mileage Duramaxes out there!! Seen some pics posted via Merchant Auto close to 1,000,000. - RV haulers!! The Cummins is no more durable than a Duramax, and the Dmax gets better mileage. Injectors do not cost that much!! 500,000 is no problems, keep it stock!
