I would be interested to see what the line pressure is on the 4720. GPM are great for attachments with stator motors, but line pressure is what really works the FEL. (So the factory rep from Kubota told me) I've always been of the belief that more GPM flow means more pressure.

The 4720 is pretty loud. Especially if you compare it to the Yanmar series of engines. I always wear hearing protection when I am on my 4720 - it is essential.

I'm looking for information regarding how good of a grading/construction tractor the 4720 and the 5000 series tractors would make.

Judging by your picture of the D5 you are very serious about your equipment, then you need to look at the Deere 210 landscape model. About 72 hp at the engine, 3700 lb lift 24" back on the 3pt lift and 10,000 lbs. I saw one at the Deere plant in August GA.
It does not have all the options like a 5X25 model but it is a stud of a tractor for dirt work.

It's an 04 D6N. Yes I like to have the right equipment for the job. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I have demoed a 210LE. It's a great tractor, but I'm trying to get something I can fit in smaller places. That's the reason for my original question about the 4720. The reason I asked about the 5000 series is someone told me to look into them. After looking at the JD site I can see they are about the same size as the 210.

4720 vs. 5525 - both very nice tractors. The 5525 is more of a heavy duty unit, but I find myself jumping on the 4720 more often. For larger jobs, the 5525 is much handier - 15' bat wing, discing, etc. Overall the 4720 get used more because it is easier to use, smaller, more versitale, goes on a trailer easier, etc, etc, etc.

Go demo both of them and see what you think.

Demo the 4720 you will love the power, even with the weight of commercial attachments, but you will find minor problems that should have been caught at the factory. I had several on mine. We agree with you about you post in the other forum that for $60,000 the 210 should be perfect.
Let us know what you think of the 4720 after the demo.

Thank you everyone for your informative replies. I have decided to buy the Kubota M7040. Here is a pic at the dealer today.
