At 3.30 plus a gallon, you'll be watching closely...My only issue with GM's in general is the valve deactivation. It's bad Ju Ju. Wife bought a new Suburban and I deleted it (valve cut out), immediately.
The 6.0’s don’t have the AFM on them so no worries. That’s another reason I got rid of my half ton with the 5.3 for my 3/4 ton 6.0 truck.

The only reason why the 6.0 is not absolute favorite engine to repower a hot rod with is because the 5.3 is more plentiful and cheaper.

I have an ‘04 2500 CC 4x4 with 120,000 miles on the clock. At 2,000 hours on the engine I did the belt, plugs and wires, and a coolant flush. It was the first time I ever touched the engine, and the last.
13.5 lifetime mpg, 3:73’s.

I never bought one because the ones I drove or were around, weren't very powerful and all of them used too much fuel...

I never heard about reliability problems though...

I bought a Chevy 1500HD 4WD with a 6.0 brand new in 2005. It has 160,000 miles on it. Last year I replaced a radiator hose-- that's the extent of "repairs" other than regular scheduled maintenance. Very reliable.

Off topic, but at the time GM was the only truck manufacturer to certify being able to tow a 4WD pickup behind a motorhome.

If I were to do this, I would be trading my 2015 F150 2wd with the 2.7eb. 82k flawless miles, good power but the truck is a little light suspension wise for towing.

It’s a no brainer to me, going from any half ton to a 3/4 ton will be night and day in towing as I discovered.

My 3/4 ton Chevies have had brake ratings for up to 5k lbs towed with none on the load. Didn't mention my '84 K-2500 with the newer ones, 3.73s too so 3 kinda all the same. Never pushed my luck but good to have that confidence. (Always preferred Atwood vs other couplers for towing the boats.)

btw, there's a road that a nephew lives on that's concrete surface and has that whoop-de do feel just for the mile he lives on. Terrible with my truck with or w/o a CUT in tow, but it's a bear even in a 1/2 ton, and no fun in a car really. As the towing capability goes up the roads easily traveled may decrease.

The 6.0L in the HD doesn’t have cylinder deactivation, if that’s what you mean with “valve deactivation”.
5030 usually spouts off on a lot of topics he has NO clue on.To the OP nice looking truck some folks are plain jealous..I have the 5.3 in my 2004 1500 with 137,000 miles and our 2020 Yukon has the 6.2 motor with 420 hp. but only 18,000 miles. We had the 6.0 chevy 2500 pickups as our fleet vehicles at work they held up well.

That's a nice looking truck but 2WD would be a deal breaker for me. Your uses may be different than mine though.
Clean used trucks like that are hard to find, especially right now.

I have had both 2wd and 4wd. I very seldom used the 4wd. I can’t justify the added expense and cost of repair on additional parts unless I really need it. The only place I will be off road much is our farm. The ground tends to be hard and if I do get in a bind the tractor can rescue me.
