the prices are very close to each other so that is not a big part of my decision.
here are my determining factors:
1. i like the size of the 2420d; but we are only talking 5" more in length and 4" more in width to go to the 2610d.
2. the 2420d has a much more modern feel with a full set of gauges including a gas gauge. also, the fenders, shifters and all around tractor feels less antiquated to me.
3. the 2610d has a vteks v3 loader which lifts more with the bigger cylinders, the 2420d has the v2 loader.
4. i actually like the power shift location better on the 2610d as well as not having to lift up or push down on the lever versus the 2420d being on the column and having to lift up or push down to come out of N into D or R.
5. the 2610d has 2 more hp, not sure if that will make a real world difference or not...if it does this is a plus, if not it is a mute point.
my use of this tractor will be tilling the smallish garden, an extensive yard reconstruction the first year or maybe two, to move engines and other car parts around my shop and yard with a pallet fork attachment, to unload and distribute 50lbs bags of grass seed, manure and fertilizer 4-5 times a year around the yard. i would guess the heaviest thing i would want to move on a regular basis would be a cummins 5.9l engine (1200lbs), this would just be from point a to b, not stack them 5' in the air. moving anything else like a boulder or downed tree would be very infrequent to never. i also want to mention all my existing implements are 48" and i only have 2 acres otherwise i would just get the yn4220d! lol
so what is everyones opinion? is one noticeably better for some reason unknown to me? is one more reliable? is one easier to get parts for?
thx!
